We believe in the power of learning by doing. Our paid internship is aimed to give valuable experience to curious and creative individuals that have a passion for interior design and the industry.
Purpose
An interior design internship at Jeid Studio would offer the following:
Work alongside experienced designers and contribute your creativity to real projects, ranging from a main floor remodel to a $2m+ new build.
Gain a deep understanding of project management and client service tasks that help to make an interior design firm run effectively.
Enjoy the camaraderie on our team of 8 while we all get s*** done. We’re typically jamming to tunes while we work.
Support interior designers on project work:
Draft furniture plans, ceiling plans, interior elevations, electrical plans, and millwork details.
Source samples and communicate with vendors and subcontractors.
Assist with lighting, electrical, finish, and furniture schedules.
Prepare proposals, approval letters, and other materials for client presentations.
Visit project sites and vendor showrooms to oversee the progress of construction and fabrication.
Support administrative tasks to support day-to-day operations:
Manage the furniture procurement process.
Maintain the design resources library.
Develop educational content for marketing purposes — aimed at potential clients, vendor partners, and homebuilders.
Key TASKS You Would Support
Enrollment or completion of a degree or certificate program in interior design, architecture, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service sensibilities.
Exceptional level of attention to detail and a personalized method of staying organized and focused.
A personality that thrives in a very close-knit team setting.
Self-motivated and wants to learn.
Willing to roll-up sleeves and help with the not-so-glamorous side of interior design (i.e., unboxing, loading/unloading product, installing in homes, recycling cardboard, steaming drapes, etc.).
Willing to travel locally to client homes and vendor showrooms.
Must be able to commute to the studio in Des Moines.
