Funky Willow

The "Funky Willow" project is a vibrant mid-century modern remodel born from a client's bold vision for a colorful and whimsical home. This design process focused on translating their unique spirit into a cohesive and timeless aesthetic, rather than a fleeting trend.

Our design journey began with a deep dive into the client's inspiration, which was full of fun, colorful, and unique ideas. We used this to establish a foundational color palette and then broke down the design room by room, finding a unique inspiration point for each space. This allowed us to intentionally layer and juxtapose different hues in a way that felt both dynamic and harmonious. While using such a bold, color-centric design was a challenge, we redefined what "timeless" meant for this space, ensuring our choices were well-executed and would be loved for years to come.

A key part of the remodel was completely changing the kitchen’s layout to create more space and improve functionality. This transformation was essential for the home to be both beautiful and practical, making the kitchen a central, inviting hub. For this kitchen remodel, we worked with Revived Interiors and leaned on them heavily for their expertise.

The final result is a mix of old and new. We integrated original architectural details, like the coffered ceiling in the office, with a curated mix of modern and traditional furniture. This blend of styles gives the home a playful and inviting feel, ensuring nothing feels too precious to be lived in. The "Funky Willow" is a home that celebrates color, life, and the client's unique vision.
