Finance Director
Purpose
To ensure our leadership team has reliable financial data and your robust analysis to make decisions with.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the flow of money in and out of the business (40%)
- Own payroll, invoices, purchases, and bills
- Confirm transactions are categorized properly
- Provide insights through historical analysis and reporting of purchases, expenses, and revenue (25%)
- Produce regular reports and dashboards that give the team a clear picture of our financial health.
- Dig for insights that reveal opportunities to improve our business.
- Optimize the way our money (and data) moves (20%)
- Reduce fees and time required to make payments by leveraging Ramp and other tools
- Connect disparate platforms and spreadsheets to automatically put information in the best spots for you and others on the team
- Provide insights through forecasts and scenario planning (10%)
- Bring answers to the big what if questions, such as “What if we land 10 more big projects?”, and “What if we expand our showroom inventory?” and “What if our projections are too rosy?”
- Equip us with interactive widgets that allow us to toggle variables and see how it impacts our financials
- Execute our tax and investment strategy (5%)
What You’ll Need
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting
- Accrual Acumen: You know GAAP principles. You don’t have to Google DEALER or DEAD CLIC to know what those acronyms stand for. You know the nuances of accrual-basis accounting.
- Advanced Spreadsheet Skills: Conditional logic shouldn’t scare you. A nested series of functions and the use of INDEX and MATCH should be familiar territory to you, along with custom dashboards.
- Financial Translation Talent: You should be able to simplify complex financial concepts into clear, actionable business language for the non-finance leadership team members.
- Experience with Ramp
- Experience with QuickBooks Online
- Experience with Zapier, or other integration tools
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position while working at a desk and at a computer.
- Constantly operating a computer, phone, and/or other office equipment such as a printer, mouse, or keyboard.
- Must have the ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech via telephone, in-person, and other remote speech.
- Must have the ability to communicate, express, and/or exchange ideas by means of spoken word. This role requires comfort with public speaking and the ability to present ideas clearly.
- Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing client presentations, viewing a computer, reading, and researching information.
