While we operate as a unified unit on every project, we have made the intentional decision to divide our responsibilities into two distinct paths: interior designer and drafters. This allows our team members to specialize and lean into their God-given unique abilities.

Interior Designer

Our interior designers are the creative communicators and the primary guardians of our authentic designs. You ensure the vision survives the transition into reality through rock-solid documentation and thoughtful sourcing. You ensure every project is as flawless as it is functional—all while being the trusted partner our clients rely on to bring their dream homes to life.

What You’ll Do

  • Creating excellent design deliverables that align with the project visionDive deep into the project vision to source the "just right" materials and finishes that make a space feel completeAccurately translates design changes and client feedback into clear redlines on drawings, focusing on precise execution and developing their understanding of how specific revisions contribute to the overall designSeeks constructive feedback on work and refines designs in order to provide the best solutions for the project
  • Providing core-level design inputDemonstrates expertise in specific design categories, as assignedDemonstrates an understanding across all project scopes [new build, remodel, furnishings]Demonstrates basic knowledge and understanding on how to use new technologies and best practices to enhance productivity
  • Project documentation being trustworthyProduces accurate, organized, and complete documents [including project Finish Schedules, shared Drive folders, etc.] and continuously verifies information is up-to-date throughout the projectIdentifies and communicates any discrepancies or potential issues in documentationSet the stage for success—ensures every material board and floor plan is prepped, polished, and ready to wow before the client walks in
  • Clients & partners being confident & happy about your assigned categoriesBuilds trust with our trades and clients by being the "person with the answers" for your assigned categoriesAttends key project meetings and contributes to discussions and answers specific questions related to their owned categories and assigned tasksWorks collaboratively with key partners to obtain estimates and can identify when design selections or budgets are not in alignment
  • Reliable project management of designer responsibilitiesComes prepared to team touchbases with up-to-date notes & high-priority questions or issues to discussKeeps the "business side" of design tidy by logging your time with notes that actually tell the story of your hard work.Manages assigned tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines and communicating progress to the design teamEnsures tasks are assigned in Asana with clear due dates, descriptions, and request for next steps

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum education: Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Interior Design & 1+ years of experience
  • A surgical eye for detail—you find peace in a perfectly aligned floor plan.
  • Cool under pressure. You can navigate a mid-project pivot or a tight deadline without losing your creative spark.
  • Exceptional client & trades communication skills: written and verbal
  • Ability to use persuasive presentation skills to articulate design concepts and pitch products with confidence and clarity 
  • Ability to effectively mentor, teach, and provide critical feedback to interior designers and drafters
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Willing to roll up sleeves and help with the not-so-glamorous side of interior design (i.e., unboxing, loading/unloading products, installing in homes, recycling cardboard, steaming drapes, etc.).
  • Has a valid drivers license with a reliable car & willing to travel locally
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations of team members, as assigned.

Extra Credit 

  • Preferred proficiency in industry software and tools: Revit, Bluebeam

Drafter

This position is full-time at our studio in Waukee, Iowa. Details are outlined below.

Purpose: 

To efficiently create construction drawing sets that keep clients and builders confident about our work, and to support your assigned design team by proactively solving plan issues and offering design ideas. 

What You’ll Do

  • Produce informative, manageable CD sets & visualsCreate technical drawings (e.g., floor plans, elevations, sections) that precisely translate design concepts into constructible informationIncorporate redlines & feedback from designers, maintaining consistency & accuracy across all drawing setsSeek constructive feedback on work & refine it in order to provide the best solutions for the project
  • Provide expert-level input about drafting & supporting softwareMaintain organized drawing files, layer standards, & block libraries to ensure efficient workflow & project continuityStay current with new features in Revit, along with new technology & drafting best practices to enhance productivity
  • Identify technical issues of designsProactively communicate potential issues with design selections that may impact functionality or constructability, while leveraging interior design knowledge to offer solutionsEnsure all drafted elements adhere to established drafting standards, company processes, & relevant building codes/regulations
  • Clients & partners being confident & happy about our drafting servicesConfidently addresses client and builder questions pertaining to drawing details, visuals, and the technical aspects of the documentationIs available to attend key client meetings or site visits to confidently contribute when their technical expertise is neededActively seeks feedback from builders and trades to identify and propose opportunities for optimizing drafting department standards and procedures
  • Juggle drafter responsibilities across multiple projectsBe prepared for team touchbases with up-to-date notes & high-priority questions or issues to discussAccurately log time to relevant categories to support post-project insightsManage assigned tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines & communicating progress to the design teamEnsure tasks are assigned in Asana with clear due dates, descriptions, & desired outcomes

What You’ll Need: 

  • 2+ years of experience in drafting for commercial or residential spaces
  • A degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • An advanced understanding of Revit & Enscape
  • Familiarity with creating & maintaining CAD/Revit standards, templates, & libraries
  • A valid driver's license with a reliable car & is willing to travel locally
  • The ability to read a room & determine the right time to listen vs. lead

Extra Credit

  • Experience drafting interior details such as millwork, cabinetry, finishes, & built-ins
  • Experience with Bluebeam
  • Experience with automation tools such as ChatGPT, PyRevit, & Dynamo Scripts
  • Experience working in Asana or other project management tools 
  • Experience in building out custom home plans from scratch
  • A sense of humor
