Retail Manager

As the Retail Manager at Jeid Studio, you’re part visual and design expert, part sales guru, and the key reason our clients feel at home from the moment they walk through the door. You set the tone for the showroom each day, ensuring every client interaction is as elevated as the furniture we sell. This role is hands-on and detail-driven, centered on retail execution, operational accuracy, and visual merchandising, while maintaining Jeid Studio’s standards across the showroom, eCommerce, and inventory.

The Retail Manager works directly with clients to navigate both ready-to-purchase and custom furnishings, applying interior design fundamentals such as scale, fabrics, and finishes. This role identifies opportunities to introduce Jeid Studio’s design services when client needs extend beyond showroom offerings and operates within established retail and operational processes. Regular weekend availability is required as part of the showroom schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Showroom Sales & Furnishings Guidance
    • Supports showroom sales through walk-in clients and scheduled appointments by presenting products and collections confidently and guiding clients toward thoughtful purchasing decisions
    • Uses your design eye to help clients visualize custom furnishings by applying fundamentals like scale and materiality to help them find the perfect fit
    • Explains customization options, lead times, pricing structures, and product limitations clearly and accurately
    • Translates client needs into accurate orders 
    • Identifies when client needs extend beyond showroom offerings and appropriately introduces Jeid Studio’s design services
    • Tracks basic sales activity and communicates observations and opportunities to leadership
  • Customer Care & Communication
    • Provides prompt, accurate, and professional responses to all customer care inquiries (email, chat, phone, and in-person)
    • Resolves order issues, shipping questions, and product concerns with clarity, ownership, and follow-through
    • Ensures customers feel supported, informed, and confident throughout their purchasing experience
  • eCommerce & Order Management
    • Accurately places orders for eCommerce, showroom purchases, and Jeid’s trade program, ensuring correct pricing, lead times, and details
    • Keeps our digital storefront as polished as our showroom by updating Shopify with fresh imagery, descriptions, and inventory data
    • Verifies all order details prior to submission and communicates issues proactively
  • Visual Merchandising & Showroom Standards
    • Curates a 'wish-I-lived-here' showroom environment
    • Maintains a polished, welcoming showroom environment that reflects Jeid Studio’s aesthetic and service standards
    • Executes visual merchandising on the showroom floor in alignment with direction set by leadership, ensuring displays remain intentional and on-brand
    • Maintains and organizes the resource library so it is accurate and easy to navigate
    • Updates vignettes and product placement as directed to maintain visual interest and support sales
  • Inventory & Back-Stock Management
    • Receives, unboxes, and inspects incoming inventory shipments, flagging any damage or discrepancies
    • Prices, tags, and prepares products for the showroom floor and storage 
    • Maintains a clean, organized, and efficient inventory back stock
    • Tracks inventory levels and ensures inventory data remains accurate across showroom and eCommerce channels
  • Packaging & Fulfillment Excellence
    • Oversees and executes beautiful, accurate packaging for in-store purchases and eCommerce orders
    • Ensures all shipments meet Jeid Studio standards for presentation, protection, and accuracy
    • Confirms orders are complete and correctly labeled before leaving the showroom

Supervisor Responsibilities: 

  • May oversee part-time retail or support staff, as assigned, and support onboarding and training to ensure consistency with showroom standards.

What You’ll Need: 

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in retail management, showroom sales, or a related customer-facing role
  • This role follows the showroom schedule and requires regular weekend availability. While core hours will be communicated in advance, this role requires flexibility as retail hours evolve to meet client needs.
  • A natural connector who can turn a casual browser into a lifelong Jeid Studio enthusiast
  • Working knowledge of interior design fundamentals, including scale, proportion, fabrics, and finishes, with the ability to apply them when assisting clients
  • Ability to speak clearly and confidently about custom furniture options, customization parameters, and product specifications
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, design-forward retail environment
  • Strong operational mindset with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through
  • Visual sensibility and understanding of elevated merchandising and styling 
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and lead hands-on retail operations (unboxing, organizing, packing, restocking, etc.)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with design, operations, and leadership teams

Extra Credit: 

  • Experience with eCommerce platforms, POS systems, and inventory management preferred (We use Shopify!)
  • Background in interiors, home furnishings, or luxury retail—with exposure to custom furniture or trade-facing products is strongly preferred
