Glenview

The transformation of this South of Grand home centered on one critical challenge: retaining its original, rich character while completely integrating the function and comfort necessary for modern family life. The design approach was to make only subtle, intentional changes that respected the residence’s historic nature, ensuring the updated space felt authentic, elegant, and effortlessly livable.

A primary focus for lead designer Jessi was prioritizing light control and enhancing key features. New windows were introduced, and a calm, neutral paint palette was applied to brighten the space instantly. Importantly, the design integrated multiple layers of lighting to emphasize architectural details and provide controlled ambiance. The new fireplace was deliberately enhanced as the central focal point. To frame this feature, custom, matching window seats were designed on either side, adding both symmetry and charm.

Beyond architectural enhancement, the transformation focused on functional durability. To ensure the space was truly family-friendly, Jessi selected highly durable upholstery fabrics. The custom window seats, dressed in plush pillows, offer versatile seating that frames the fireplace. This integration of elegant architectural features with durable materials ensures the home functions seamlessly for everyday use while honoring its historic integrity.
